'Hands Dirty' is the second single from Snax's Shady Lights LP. Snax explains it's creation: ‘One night at the Berghain Club here in Berlin I was venturing upstairs to the second floor Panorama Bar. On my way up I decided to record the transformative sound one experiences in between the two dance floors when making that journey. I recorded walking up the stairs and into Panorama, brought that file to my studio and that became the basis of the track. It’s the first loop you hear. I sprinkled that with samples I got from the Berlin Philharmonic, sat it on top of a deep rhythm section and voila, the track wrote itself. Lyrically, I was reflecting on the skewed and distorted ways we all relate to each other on dating and social apps, especially hook-up apps for gay men like Grindr. This kind of ‘connection’ we make with each other can be very elusive indeed, and it all comes at the expense of doing the work of actually leaving your room, becoming part of the world, having a real conversation with someone and perhaps taking it further. It’s so easy to hide behind profiles, screen names, selfies and chatting. Who dares to actually get their Hands Dirty?

'Hands Dirty' gets a rework from Bobby Duran, a New York City based DJ who got his start remixing two tracks for none other than Beyoncé herself. Duron is ‘making his mark in the music world, creatively merging Chicago House, NY underground, dark progressive house, sensuous Jazz and Ambient coined seductive House’.

Also on board is Bobby Starrr, a Berlin-based House DJ/ producer and co-resident of the monthly House party e·man·ci·pate at Tresor , ‘I try to sound fresh and focus on the core of the groove I’m organically moving towards,’ says Bobby. ‘Some drums from classic drum machines, a dubby bassline, edits from live instruments with more a full on arrangement than a DJ Tool approach, It’s House’.
